The inspiration behind this prayer book
At the heart of this prayer book are two deeply personal experiences. At different moments, two people within my wider circle were passing through serious difficulties and needed the quiet strength of prayer. I entrusted them both to Saint Rita, asking for her intercession, and encouraged those close to them to remain united in prayer. I carried their intentions in my own prayers as well.
After some time, I learned that the condition of both people had improved. I received that news with gratitude and humility. I do not present these experiences as a promise, proof of cause, or a replacement for medical care. For me, they became a profound invitation to share hope more widely—to create a prayer book that can accompany people in need and help them bring their burdens to God through prayer and the intercession of Saint Rita.

For centuries, people facing illness and situations beyond their control have asked for Saint Rita’s intercession. The Sanctuary in Cascia continues to receive testimonies of graces and healings that the faithful attribute to her prayers.
Accounts examined for her canonization
The Sanctuary records the healing of a young girl whose severe illness threatened her sight. After months of prayer asking for Saint Rita’s intercession, her sight was restored.
It also recounts the unexpected recovery of an elderly man suffering from a grave chronic illness, at a moment when his condition had become critical.
According to the Sanctuary of Saint Rita in Cascia, these healings were examined during the canonical process and approved in connection with Saint Rita’s canonization in 1900.
